Kraken Press

Posted by Randi on Wednesday, March 9, 2011

What they want:
We are interested in seeing manuscripts in the genres of horror, dark fantasy and weird fiction. More importantly, we’re interested in fresh writing. We’re not likely to publish anything with vampires, werewolves or zombies.

Length: We accept unsolicited novels, novellas and short story collections, up to 120.000 words. The minimum for short story collections is 50.000 words. We do not accept short stories. Generally, collections are a harder sell for us than novels.

  2. Loren, how did you go in sending that novel, i also want to send it to them but was unsure.

  3. Loren, you won't have a publisher if you write your novels the way you wrote that post. Ever hear of proper punctuation? Sentence fragments? Ring any bells? It's slush like this that ruins chances for true artists of the craft. So, thank you.

  7. Since the ed never replies to any comments made on the website, I'm assuming this is a dead market.

  11. If people haven't heard back yet, does it mean they are being considered? Or is it just the volume of subs you've had?

James, I'm not sure who you are but like I emailed you about, no one with your name or email address has submitted or contacted us.

If you have tried to contact us, please check the email address you've been sending it to because we're not receiving it.
